Undress Like A Princess

The life and loves of a lingerie addict

CREATEUR CUIR ET DENTELLE

For SS12, La Perla have again teamed up again with French haute couture fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier.

After the success of their first collection in 2010, it was inevitable that they would ensure their next collection would be equally stunning, leaving you feeling like you needed to own the set! Like a pair of Louboutins, this is lingerie worth saving those pennies before.

The collection oozes with a couture twist on lingerie, with an emphasis on the beautiful being key, but nothing is a cliche, nothing is expected and boundaries are pushed, opening up your eyes to a new, exciting approach to lingerie.

Incorporating the iconic, classic La Perla shapes, sets are detailed with a stunning, laser cut, light weight leather, a beautiful lace and overlaid on top of a fine netting, and in either black or nude, both are striking (although the nude set is my favourite, I feel you can really see all of the little details)

The corset is defiantly my favourite! However, at £1,620.00 it’s a TAD out of my price range, but it’s incredibly inspiring. The whole collection makes me feel excited about lingerie again, it’s so far from a ditsy print on a padded plunge which, lets face it, has been done to death and can be a little boring. This collection, as with the previous La Perla/JPG collaborations, always seem to push the right buttons with me and set me off thinking.

Corset in laser-perforated leather matched with La Perla’s signature Leavers lace and very fine netting £1620

Leather short with Leavers lace insert on hips – £360

Thong in a very fine netting and a laser-perforated leather recalling the lace motif on the waist – £207

Triangle bra in a very fine netting and a laser-perforated leather recalling the lace motif with adjustable leather straps – £333

Push-up bra in a very fine netting and a laser-perforated leather recalling the lace motif on the cups – £432

Dress in laser-perforated leather matched with La Perla’s signature Leavers lace and very fine netting – £1800

Agent Provocateur AW11

Being a complete addict of all things Agent Provocateur, when I saw the stunning new lingerie ranges for AW11 had been released, I had to go and have a look for myself, and it’s safe to say, it’s beautiful, as always.

There are 2 sets which I would personally never wear myself, those being Maggie, a black number with a pussy bow neck detail, and Florine, a hot pink set with ruffle detailing all over the cups, suspender and knicker. Now, me not liking something they’ve done is not a negative point, It’s something I find so great about AP, they have such a strong customer aesthetic, people know the brand as being so sexy and beautiful and they have designs to suit every womans personality.

But anyway, onto what I do like, I’ve chose my key 4 sets, the ones that I’d buy in a heartbeat so let me introduce you ❤

Margot is an instant head turner, I adore how daring the set is, can you imagine how gorgeous you’d feel walking around the office or wherever it might be that you’re going, knowing you have a set like this hidden underneath your work clothes? The bra has a beautiful visible sling that twists at the centre, allowing a peek of delicate black lace to show, which helps to offer a great amount of support, while the suspender really is a beautiful finishing touch. It does only come in black but I see this as a positive, I adore this set in black, and I wouldn’t know whether it would have the same amount of sex appeal if it was in a white or red. This set is one worn to be seen, be it at the end of a hard day when you peel off your everyday wear and reveal this stunner, or worn to tempt and tease your lover, making his jaw drop and heart race..

The bra: £140 (32B-36E)

The knicker – £110

The thong – £85

The suspender – £110

Sidonie is a more wearable all black collection, but that doesn’t make it any less striking. The brief is my favorite garment out of the range, I love how simple the shape is but how effective it is, the floral black lace is incredibly feminine, and again, the fact it’s all black keeps it incredibly striking and sexy. The basque gives a beautiful shape, the line of the panels drag the eye around the body in a way which nips in the waist, creating a beautiful hour glass shape. Personally, I wouldn’t wear the basque, I feel the all over print is a little much for my taste, but the bra and knicker is a definite must have. Sexy and subtle, perfect.

The bra – £95 (32B-38DD)

The brief – £85

The basque – £285

This set, is by far, the most beautiful out of them all and I have to have it! Just take a second to look at it and take it all in.. perfection! ❤ The colour is just absolutely stunning, two tone layers of French blue chantilly lace have been used and look incredible together and the contrast pink bow is just the perfect finishing touch. I can honestly say If i was wearing this I’d feel like a princess, knowing that I had such beautiful lingerie on underneath my clothes would defiantly put a smile on my face!

(It also comes in a pink/black mix, which I don’t love as much, but it is still just as pretty.)

It’s my Birthday in November, that gives me three months to drop some serious hints to the boyfriend.. or to at least begin saving, they’ll be an investment piece.. (that’s the excuse anyway!)

The bra – £100 (32B-38DD)

The brief – £65

The suspender – £65

Finally, we have Orchid, a 1930s inspired collection which is as dramatic as it is elegant. The print is absolutely stunning, a modern twist on a floral. The shapes of the garments are simple and chic, all the drama is brought forward by the contrast black, red and yellow printed silk chiffon. The bra is beautifully smooth and subtly padded giving a delicate cleavage and gentle lift. You’d feel like a queen walking around with the gown cascading down around you, with it’s satin bow which ties up around the waist, you can hide, or reveal, just as much as you like..

The bra – £95

The brief – £65

The suspender – £95

The gown – £595
